The FOGO Sports Training Program is the perfect way to get back on your feet, embark on a new journey, and do something truly special this year! With rising healthcare costs and a growing obesity epidemic in the United States, too much focus is being placed on disease treatement, but not enough on preventive health!!
As we have moved into an age of automation and modernization, it is imperative that we continue to find ways to remain physical active. Currently, only 40% of Americans meet recommended levels of daily physical activity. This program is our small part in getting South Florida active again!
While the main goal of FOGO Sports is to prepare you to walk or run the 2011 ING Miami Half Marathon, our goals run a little deeper - we want to help motivate, encourage, and educate you about the benefits of healthy lifestyle choices and the benefits of regular physical activity!!
Improving Your Fitness! The "secret" goal of the FOGO Sports Training Program is to help you increase your fitness and wellness knowledge, establish positive, long-term health habits, and to increase your daily physical activity levels. We want the FOGO training experience to be more than just running - we want it to be a lifestyle change that persists long after you have successfully completed the ING Miami Half Marathon. We will accomplish this through:
- health seminars;
- weekly health and wellness tips provided through weekly email newsletters;
- fitness demonstrations;
- yoga, pilates and other health-based classes;
- nutrition & body composition presentations;
- sports medicine discussions and speakers;
- other notable health & wellness speakers
